An excerpt from my journal: My professor was sick so today and tomorrow my class was canceled. So I went to Muy Thai boxing with Grace, Oliva, and Valeria this morning. It was a great workout. Then we went to lunch at Vigie Sist Cafe. I am avoiding Thai Food it doesn't make me feel my very best. Then got a mani pedi with Grace! She is from the U of U too. She's 19. Very cute. We talked a lot and had fun. Went home took a shower, made a FB Live, bought my mom a journal and went to yoga with Sav, Grace, and Tyler. Then Audrey organized a dinner and I didn't want Thai food. We went home and met up again for the meal. I went with them and walked around the fruit market. Ended up ordering this dessert called Honey Toast that was honestly the most delectable thing I have ever had. But I wanted pizza for dinner not pad Thai or rice. So over that. People were giving me criticisms for eating pizza in Thailand. Well you're staying in bar till 1 AM so how is that any less stupid.
Skykick Muaythai Gym- This was more like a comedic act than a workout! The instructor barely spoke English but he knew how to say "Faster!" hahahaha we got whooped.
Honey Toast! I don't get desserts too often but this was one of those things that was worth it. It was in Niiman.
With our class being canceled because our professor was sick, it was kind of disappointing because after all we did sign up for a study abroad! And my class specifically which was called Holistic Health and Wellness in Asia, we were only going to be at the school for one week anyway, because we fly to Krabi for the second two weeks of class. All the other students would remain in Chiang Mai for the duration.
But, us being adventurous students weren't about to waste one day in Thailand! One guy in our group, Caleb, had somehow met a driver. There was a big list of things we had all looked up and thought would be cool to visit, I for one didn't do too much research but I was glad everyone else did. There was this place called Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat that looked cool, and apparently was an all day trip, but since we had all day Caleb organized a trip. Only me, Grace, Audrey, and him went. It was a craaaaazzzzzy road to get there, I think we got lost a few times and there was no reception. But we made it.
